Water courses which include, creaks, rivers, lakes, etc… can affect where your building is located. The default distance you need to be away from any water course is 30m 100feet unless a Qualified Environmental Professional can reduce that distance by providing research to the water course to determine if there is any effect of damaging wild life if building closer.
FIRE RESPONCE TIME
The “Fire Response Time (FRT)” is the time it takes for the firetruck to arrive at the scene of a fire it has been called in.
If you are inside the 10 min FRT, There is no change as to how many windows you are permitted in your house. For example: if your house is 1.2 m (which is determined as the Limiting Distance (LD), from the property line you are permitted only 7% of the wall face for windows. If you are inside the 10 min. FRT this number remains 7%.
If you are outside of the FRT the Limiting Distance gets reduced by 1/2. If you house is 1.2 m away you are not permitted any windows. If your house is 2.4 m from the property line you are permitted 7% windows.
If your house is sprinklered you are permitted to double the Limiting Distance. If your house is 1.2 m from the property line, you can use the calculation as if your house is 2.4 m from the property line, or if you are outside the 10 m fire response time you do not need to reduce the distance by 1/2.
A part time fire hall cannot be used to determine fire response time.
